IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Ginko will be grouchy and discombobulated. Go for it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Ginko is not a fighty person, doesn't really want to engage with violence, and will not make for a satisfying challenge; I'm fine with people trying it.
RELATIONSHIPS: He's pining a bit for a couple specific characters from his canon, so will likely be cagey about open flirting, but romantic advances are totally fine. He's casual about short or medium-term sexual relationships for fun and stress relief, but be warned that if things go on too long he might try to get away from or start avoiding your character before he develops feelings.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Ginko has no psychic abilities, but is in tune enough with weird phenomena that he might notice you're trying something on him anyway, depending on the particular details. If you read his mind (which you're welcome to do) you'll find mostly a frankly ludicrous amount of facts, trivia, and case studies about stuff you have never heard of, and perhaps a very small and tightly locked box somewhere in the back of storage labeled "feelings." He has absolutely no memories before the age of about ten, not even repressed ones; they were utterly consumed by an encounter with a mushi. Inside his brain to all intents and purposes it feels like a normal human mind, but with a strange sense of something very large and very bright swimming slowly some distance beneath your feet.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: The only things about Ginko that might be considered magical are his contamination by an entity of shadow, which is imperceptibly slowly turning him into another of its own kind, and his tendency to attract mushi (a type of parallel life invisible to most people, which have strange effects on nature and living organisms.) He can't control or exploit either of these effects, and has no special abilities granted by either of them, except for an enhanced ability to see in the dark. He has, however, made an intense study of mushi and knows how to safely deal with or ameliorate their effects, sometimes in ways he or others can benefit from - for example, using them to rapidly search long areas or communicate with certain other people over long distances. The only inherent supernatural ability he has is the ability to perceive mushi without outside assistance.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Mostly a normal human in fairly good physical shape (although his lungs are probably a mess from whatever's in those mushi repellent cigarettes and incense). His left eye is completely gone, with no sign of injury or disease to explain its absence; with the eyelid open, the socket appears as a completely dark void of indeterminate depth.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: He's pretty chill about most things, but gets Extremely upset about unwise and selfish exploitation of mushi phenomena and is likely to react similarly to that type of treatment of other paranormal entities and effects. Disrespect for the life and welfare of any type of living creature (including your own life) is also likely to set him against you pretty quick. For his part, he tends to be kind of worryingly chill about the natural cycle of death and decay, and might talk about it too much for some people's comfort. He can also be really condescending, or refuse to explain things that he really should tell people about and then get mad at them for not understanding. He's also bad at personal boundaries if he thinks he might learn something interesting by disrespecting them.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: Average height Japanese man apparently somewhere in his 20s or 30s. Straight, messy white hair that covers his left eye (but not so thoroughly you can't get a glimpse of it sometimes; he keeps it closed) and a blue-green right eye that has a strange impression of luminosity, although it doesn't actually glow. Perpetually rumpled from travel, and his clothes always seem a bit anachronistic, no matter where or when he is. Slouches atrociously and is almost always smoking hand-rolled cigarettes. In situations where he has access to it, he's always either wearing his merchant's box (a wooden backpack that looks like a simple chest of drawers with straps, a "gyosho baku") or has it somewhere in easy reach.
AURAL: A slightly low, fairly melodic voice; frequently sounds sarcastic or amused at some private joke. Tends to keep his mouth shut for long periods, and doesn't really make much noise when moving around.
OLFACTORY: I am going to be real with you. Ginko is a man who hikes through the wilderness for weeks on end, falls into mud, picks up weird bugs and plants, and is always, always smoking. The fact that what he's smoking is mushi repellent rather than tobacco doesn't make it much better; who knows what's in that stuff. Ginko is not a man who smells good. But it's like, a complicated and interesting kind of stink. It's a stink with layers. It's overlaid with unusual herbs and medicine and incense, and beneath it all theres a smell like heady sake and clean plant rot from something he's always carrying around.
DEMEANOUR: Disaffected and cynical, transitioning without warning into animated, grabby interest if you show him some kind of Cool Phenomenon. Doesn't change his expression or tone of voice much unless things are getting intense, and almost never seems to be in much of a hurry.
